A: Standard appointments are 15 minutes. New patients are recommended to have a double i.e. 30 minute initial appointment. I also recommend that a double appointment is booked for mental health, complex problems, or if you have more than one issue.
Q: How do I get my notes transferred to your new clinic?
A: Please ask Reception for a Transfer of Record Form which they can fax to your previous clinic with your signed consent. For your information, clinics are only legally obliged to hold onto patients' records until the patient is 25, or a maximum of seven years after last contact (whichever is longer), after which the notes may be destroyed.
Q: What is My Health Record?
A: The Australian Government is encouraging all patients to register for My Health Record, an online summary of your health information. At present, this is mainly limited to a summary of major medical diagnoses, medications, allergies and immunisations. Check back with Department of Health as this is continually being reviewed.
Q: Can you recommend any good health websites?
A: These are both great sources of health information: Patient and Better Health Channel. For health news including international stories, ABC health stories looks interesting.
Q: What are you up to when you're not at work?
A: You may find me walking or skateboarding in Beaumaris, possibly accompanied by Mira, our beloved Boxer dog. Otherwise, I am most likely indoors at my laptop, writing fiction (feel free to check out https://www.alicelambooks.com for free short stories and links to books) or practising the electronic drums!
Q: I have some ideas for your website. Are you interested in comments? A: Absolutely. This was always going to be a work in progress. I am very interested in what visitors think, and welcome your input via the Contact me page.
